The Purpose of Prayer: Building a Relationship with God

The purpose of prayer is not to get answers from God, but to have a perfect and complete oneness with Him. When we pray, we are not just asking for things, but we are spending time with God and building a relationship with Him. This is why God wants us to pray - to have fellowship with Him. As we pray, we become more loving and our motives become more unselfish. We also become more aware of our dependence on God and our need for Him.

The Character of God: Listening and Answering Prayers

God is always listening and He does answer all of our prayers, even if sometimes the answer is no or wait. We may not always understand why God answers our prayers the way He does, but we can trust that He is working in our lives. God's character is one of love and He wants to have a relationship with us. He is not a distant God who doesn't care about our lives, but a loving Father who wants to hear from us and answer our prayers.

Trusting in God's Word

When our prayers are not answered, we must trust in God's Word, not just in answered prayer. We must believe God, even when we can't change our circumstances. This is what Jeremiah did, and it's what we must do too. We must trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even when we don't understand why our prayers are not being answered. By trusting in God's Word, we can continue to pray and have a deepening relationship with Him, even in the midst of unanswered prayers.
