Discovering Your Purpose

As a Christian, you may wonder if it's possible to have a purpose in life outside of work. The Bible teaches us that our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever (Psalm 16:11). This purpose is not limited to our profession or career, but is a fundamental aspect of our existence. In fact, the Bible says that we are created to be fruitful and multiply, and to fill the earth with God's glory (Genesis 1:28). This purpose is not just about what we do, but about who we are in Christ.

Making Your Own Purpose

The Bible teaches us that we are to make our own purpose, rather than waiting for someone else to give it to us. As the apostle Paul says, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). This means that our purpose is not something that we discover, but something that we create through our relationship with God. We are to take our God-given talents and abilities and use them to serve others and bring glory to God.

Living Out Your Purpose

So, how do we live out our purpose in life? The Bible teaches us that our purpose is not just about what we do, but about how we live our lives. We are to live our lives in such a way that we bring glory to God and reflect His character to the world. This means that we are to live with integrity, honesty, and compassion, and to use our talents and abilities to serve others. As the apostle Paul says, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men" (Colossians 3:23). By living out our purpose in life, we can bring joy and hope to those around us, and glorify God in all that we do.
