Biblical Answer

When we feel that God is distant from us, it can be a confusing and disorienting experience. We may feel like we're trying to reach out to God, but He seems far away. However, the Bible teaches us that God is omnipresent, meaning He is present in every part of space with His whole being. This means that God is not physically distant from us, but rather, the distance is moral. Sin separates us from God, making it difficult to experience His presence.

The Bible also teaches us that God can be near to us, even if we don't feel it. In Psalm 139:7-8, David asks God not to be far from him, and in Psalm 139:10-12, he declares that God's presence is everywhere. This means that God's presence is not limited to physical space, but rather, it's a spiritual reality that we can experience through faith. As the Bible says in John 20:29, God is accessible to us by faith, not by sight. This means that we can experience God's presence even when we don't feel it physically.

So, why does God seem so distant from us? The answer lies in our relationship with God. When we sin, we create a moral distance between ourselves and God. However, God is always seeking to be near to us, and He desires a personal relationship with us. As the Bible says in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." This means that we must seek God with all our heart, and not just with our emotions or physical presence. When we do, we can experience God's presence in a deep and meaningful way.
