Self-worth and affluence are not directly correlated. In fact, having a sense of self-worth that is not tied to material possessions can be a source of strength and stability in life. When we base our self-worth on our ability to acquire and possess things, we can feel worthless and unfulfilled if we are unable to afford the things we want. However, if we understand that our worth comes from being created in the image of God and redeemed through Jesus Christ, we can find a sense of self-worth that is not dependent on our financial situation.

The Bible teaches that our worth and value come from God, not from our possessions or accomplishments. In 1 Corinthians 6:20, it says, "You were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies." This means that we are not our own, and our value and worth come from being purchased by God. When we understand this, we can see that our self-worth is not tied to our financial situation, but rather to our relationship with God.

In fact, the Bible warns us about the dangers of seeking wealth and material possessions above all else. In Matthew 16:26, Jesus says, "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" This means that if we prioritize our wealth and possessions above our relationship with God, we can lose our sense of self-worth and our eternal soul. On the other hand, if we prioritize our relationship with God and seek to honor Him with our lives, we can find a sense of self-worth that is not dependent on our financial situation.
