The Unreliability of Human Trust

When we put our trust in human means, we are essentially placing our hope in something that is subject to change and impermanence. Our bodies can age, our health can decline, and our financial situations can shift. In the case of plastic surgery, it may provide temporary solutions, but it cannot guarantee eternal youth or perfect physical appearance. Similarly, financial security can be taken away in an instant, leaving us feeling vulnerable and uncertain. This is because our trust is placed in something that is inherently fragile and susceptible to external factors.

The Unwavering Trust of God

In contrast, when we put our trust in God, we are placing our hope in something that is eternal, unchanging, and all-powerful. Psalm 91:2 says, "This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He alone is my God, I trust Him." (NLT) God is not subject to the same limitations and uncertainties as human means. He is the Creator of the universe and sustains all things. His power and wisdom are unmatched, and His love for us is unwavering. When we trust in God, we can have confidence that He will provide for us, even in the midst of uncertainty and chaos.

The Assurance of God's Provision

So, can we really trust our insurance? The answer is no. While insurance may provide temporary security, it is not a reliable means of trust. In contrast, when we trust in God, we can have assurance that He will provide for us, even when human means fail. Psalm 37:3-4 says, "Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." (NIV) This is because God is our ultimate source of security, and His provision is not limited by external factors. When we trust in Him, we can have peace and confidence, even in the midst of uncertainty and change. So, let us not place our trust in human means, but rather in the all-powerful and loving God who is our refuge and strength.
