Why did I have to go through this financial struggle?

As a Christian, it is essential to understand that God is sovereign over all creation, including our financial situations. We must not assume that financial struggles are solely a result of our own decisions or circumstances. Instead, we can look to God's Word for guidance and wisdom. The Bible teaches us that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). This means that sometimes, God may allow us to go through financial struggles to teach us valuable lessons, to refine our character, or to bring us closer to Him.

In this sense, our financial struggles can be seen as an opportunity for spiritual growth and development. As the Bible says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance" (James 1:2-3). Our financial struggles can be a chance for us to develop perseverance, patience, and trust in God. By trusting in God's sovereignty and providence, we can learn to be content with what we have, rather than being controlled by our desires for more. As the Bible teaches, "Godliness with contentment is great gain" (1 Timothy 6:6).

However, it is also possible that our financial struggles may be a result of our own decisions or actions. Perhaps we have not managed our finances wisely, or we have not been living within our means. As the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6). By seeking God's guidance and wisdom, we can learn to make better financial decisions and avoid unnecessary struggles. Ultimately, our financial struggles can be an opportunity for spiritual growth, but it is also essential to take responsibility for our own actions and decisions. By doing so, we can learn to trust in God's sovereignty and providence, even in the midst of financial struggles.
