Your Question:
How do I prepare my kids for my death?
Answer:
As a pastor and a father, I've come to realize that preparing my kids for my eventual passing is a vital part of their spiritual growth and development. I believe it starts with submitting myself to God and asking for His guidance on how to be the parent and intercessor He wants me to be. I pray for my children, Joshua and Rebecca, to have a deep understanding of who God is and to grow in their faith. I ask God to open their hearts and bring them to a full knowledge of the truth about Him. To help my children understand the value of giving and sacrifice, I've started involving them in charitable activities. We've chosen to donate some of their clothes and toys to those in need, and I've made sure to explain that giving away something they like is a true sacrifice. I've also encouraged them to create care packages for homeless families and to give away items when we purchase buy one, get one free deals. These experiences have helped them understand the importance of giving and obedience. As I pray for my children, I ask God to give them a heart to follow Him and to continually draw them toward Him. I pray that He would silence the enemy's attempts to lead them astray and help them hear His voice in their souls. I also ask God to keep them far from the confusion of the world, so they can make right decisions and live according to His will and ways. By praying for my children and involving them in charitable activities, I'm hoping to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities they'll face in life, and to help them develop a strong foundation in their faith.
