Your Question:

Why does God make me choose between my business and my family?

Answer:

As I reflect on my own life and the challenges I face as a pastor and a husband, I've come to realize that God sometimes allows us to get into a place of testing where our own welfare would be the appropriate thing to consider, if we were not living the life of faith. But if we are, we will joyfully waive our right and allow God to make our choice for us. This is the discipline God uses to transform the natural into the spiritual through obedience to His voice.

You see, as a man of faith, I've learned that when we have a right-standing relationship with God, we have a life of freedom, liberty, and delight; we are God's will. And all of our commonsense decisions are actually His will for us, unless we sense a feeling of restraint brought on by a check in our spirit. This is why I believe God makes us choose between our business and our family - to test our priorities, to see if we are truly living for Him or if we are living for ourselves.

As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with the idea of choosing between their business and their family. They may feel like they have to choose between providing for their loved ones and following their faith. But I believe that God wants us to choose Him, no matter what. When we choose God, He will guide us and give us the wisdom we need to make decisions that honor Him. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it.
