Trusting God in the Midst of Chaos

When everything is falling apart, it can be challenging to trust God. Our natural response is to panic, question His goodness, and seek answers to the "why" behind the disaster. However, faith is not about having all the answers or understanding God's ways. It's about establishing ourselves on the eternal truth that God is holy love and that He is still moving on our behalf, working everything out for our greatest good and His glory. To trust God in the darkness, we must come to the realization that His way is right, even when all else seems wrong.

Understanding God's Sovereignty

The Bible teaches us that God is great and all-sufficient, and that He has suffered on account of evil. We may ask why He doesn't remove the evil in the world or blame Him for it, but this is a misconception. God is not the author of evil, but rather the sustainer of all creation. To trust God is to acknowledge His sovereignty and power, and to recognize that our search for self-satisfaction has been a failure. We must turn to Jesus, who is our true destination, and surrender our lives to Him. This is not a weak and pitiful emotion, but strong and vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love.

Cultivating Dynamic Faith

To cultivate dynamic faith, we must establish a daily personal time with God, talking to Him and listening to His voice as a friend to friend. This is when we can develop a prayer-relationship with God, trusting Him in the midst of chaos and calamity. As we do this, we'll come to realize that faith is not just a feeling, but a choice. We can choose to trust God, even when we don't understand what He's doing. As the Bible says, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15). This is the essence of dynamic faith – trusting God, not because we have all the answers, but because we know He is holy love and that He is working everything out for our good.
