When Your Children Grow Up and You're Not There to See It

As a parent, it's natural to worry about what will happen to your children when you're no longer there to see it. Will they continue to walk with God? Will they make good choices? The Bible reminds us that God's sovereignty is at work in our lives, even when we're not present. Psalm 139:16 says, "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began." This means that God has a plan for our children's lives, even before they were born. He knows their potential for greatness and has a purpose for them.

As we pray for our children, it's essential to pray for them to come to know Jesus and to walk with Him faithfully throughout their lives. We should also pray for them to be used by God to make a difference in the world. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." This means that our children should be living their lives in a way that honors God, even when we're not there to see it. By teaching them to live for God and to serve others, we're giving them the tools they need to make a positive impact in the world.

Ultimately, our children's growth and development are not solely dependent on us. God is the one who gives them the power to become what He wants them to be. 2 Peter 1:3 says, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." As parents, our role is to support and encourage our children as they grow in their faith, but we must also trust in God's sovereignty and know that He is working in their lives, even when we're not there to see it. By doing so, we can have peace and confidence in the knowledge that our children are in God's hands.
