What Now?

When facing a crisis such as losing a job and having a home at risk, it's essential to remember that God is sovereign over all creation. He governs the universe and everything in it, including the events that unfold in our lives. While it's natural to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the future, we must not lose sight of God's presence and power in our lives. Instead of panicking or relying on worldly solutions, we should seek to understand God's perspective and will in this situation.

In the Bible, we read about the importance of trust and faith in God, even when circumstances seem impossible. In Isaiah 56:7, God promises that His house will be a house of prayer, a place where we can find refuge and comfort in times of need. However, we must not rely on our own strength or abilities to solve our problems, but rather seek God's guidance and provision. This is evident in the story of the three-story home that was destroyed by a mudslide, and the family that was miraculously spared. The destruction of their home was a reminder that God is the one who brings accidents and disasters into our lives, but He is also the one who can provide for us and guide us through difficult times.

So, what now? First, we must acknowledge our dependence on God and seek His guidance and provision. We must recognize that our trust in Him is not based on our circumstances, but on His character and promises. As we seek to rebuild our lives and our homes, we must do so with a heart that is surrendered to God and a mind that is focused on His will. May God give us the grace, wisdom, understanding, and determination we need to rebuild our lives and our homes into a place that is a showcase of His amazing grace! (Appendix B, Leading Your Child to Jesus). By doing so, we can find peace and comfort in the midst of chaos, and trust that God is working everything out for our good. (Romans 8:28). The key to rebuilding our lives and our homes is not to focus on the destruction that has occurred, but to focus on the hope and promise that God offers us. As the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6). By seeking God's guidance and provision, we can find the strength and courage we need to rebuild our lives and our homes, and to trust that God is working everything out for our good. (Romans 8:28).
