Will there be marriage in heaven?

The Bible gives us some insight into what will happen in heaven. According to Matthew 22:30, Jesus says that there will be no marrying or giving in marriage in the resurrection. This implies that marriage as we know it will not exist in heaven. The reason for this is that the real marriage, the one between Christ and his people, will have already taken place (Matthew 22:30; Revelation 19:7). This is a marriage that will be characterized by unity, intimacy, and joy, and it will be the ultimate fulfillment of all human relationships.

However, some people might argue that if there will be no marriage in heaven, then what about the concept of a "wedding" in heaven? The Bible speaks of a "wedding supper of the Lamb" in Revelation 19:9, which might suggest that there will be some kind of marriage or union in heaven. However, it's essential to understand that this "wedding" is not a human marriage but rather a celebration of the union between Christ and his people. It's a picture of the ultimate marriage, the one that will bring heaven and earth together.

In heaven, our relationships with God will be the ultimate fulfillment of our existence. We will be united with Christ in a way that transcends human marriage. The Bible teaches that our ultimate joy and satisfaction will not be derived from our marital relationships but from our relationship with Christ (Ephesians 5:25-29). Therefore, while marriage will not exist in heaven as we know it, our relationship with Christ will be the ultimate fulfillment of all human relationships, and it will be a marriage that will bring heaven and earth together.
