Responding to Chaos with Courage and Faith

When chaos strikes, it can be overwhelming and disrupt our plans. However, as Christians, we are called to respond with courage and faith. According to the Bible, faith is the supreme effort of our lives, throwing ourselves recklessly on God (Hebrews 11:6). This means that we must establish ourselves on the eternal truth that God is holy love (Psalm 86:15). When we lack this mental composure, we may experience disaster in our lives. Therefore, it is essential to understand that faith is not just a feeling, but a deliberate choice to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty.

To respond to chaos with courage and faith, we must get proactive about a new strategy to handle failure. This involves prayer, asking God to help us react by faith to any future failures. However, prayer is not enough; we must also apply our new strategy to the next failure. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Furthermore, we must routinely reflect on the brevity and fragility of life, which can help us stay grounded and focused on God's sovereignty.

When we face difficulties, we often ask, "Why is this happening to me?" or "Why is this happening now?" However, this focus on our troubles can lead to anxiety and a lack of faith. Instead, we should look to God's promises and trust in His goodness. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). By responding to chaos with courage and faith, we can experience the peace and comfort that comes from knowing that God is working everything out for our good. Ultimately, our faith is not just about getting through difficult times, but about growing and developing our relationship with God. As we face challenges, we can trust that God is working to make us more like Him and to bring us closer to Him. By doing so, we can experience a radical transformation in our lives, just like the one I experienced, and develop dynamic faith that will carry us through even the most difficult circumstances. Amen.
