Can we prioritize our values in times of change when we're feeling uncertain and feeling stuck?

Embracing Uncertainty and Change

In times of change, it's natural to feel uncertain and stuck. The Bible reminds us that we are not alone in these feelings. In Psalm 119:71, we read, "It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees." This verse shows us that even in times of uncertainty, we can find guidance and wisdom from God's Word. To prioritize our values in times of change, we must first acknowledge that we are not in control. As the Bible says in Romans 11:36, "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." This verse reminds us that God is sovereign and that He is working all things out for our good (Romans 8:28).

Aligning Our Schedules with Our Values

To prioritize our values, we must take a step back and evaluate our schedules and priorities. As Stephen Covey said, "We achieve inner peace when our schedule aligns with our values." This means that we must take the time to reflect on what is truly important to us and make adjustments accordingly. To prioritize our values in times of change, we must cultivate a biblical mindset. This means that we must see our circumstances through the lens of God's sovereignty and goodness. As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:18, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." This verse reminds us that our focus should be on the eternal and unseen things of God, rather than the temporary and seen things of this world. By cultivating a biblical mindset, we can prioritize our values and trust in God's goodness, even in the midst of uncertainty and change.
