Biblical Answer

The Bible teaches us that God is sovereign over all creation, including the natural world and human lives. This means that God is in control, even in the midst of suffering and uncertainty. When we face a life-threatening illness like cancer, it can be tempting to question God's goodness and sovereignty. However, we must remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We can trust that God is working everything out for our good, even when we don't understand what's happening (Romans 8:28).

As Christians, we believe that our ultimate hope is not in this life, but in the life to come. We are not guaranteed a long life, but we are promised eternal life with God (John 3:16). This means that even if our physical body succumbs to cancer, our spirit can live on with God. We can find comfort in the promise of resurrection and eternal life, and we can trust that God will bring good out of our suffering (Romans 8:18). This doesn't mean that we should be cavalier about our physical health or ignore the pain and struggles of this life. Rather, we should seek to live each day to the fullest, trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, and looking forward to the hope of eternal life.

In the face of cancer, it's natural to wonder if it's worth living. But the Bible teaches us that life is precious, and every moment is a gift from God (Psalm 139:14). We should seek to make the most of the time we have, and to use our struggles as opportunities to grow in faith and trust in God. We can find strength and hope in the stories of those who have faced cancer and other challenges with courage and faith, such as Job and Paul (Job 1-2, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10). By trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, and by looking forward to the hope of eternal life, we can find peace and purpose even in the midst of suffering.
