The Impact of Death on Marriage

When a spouse dies, it can have a profound impact on the surviving partner. The loss can be overwhelming, and the grieving process can be long and difficult. In the biblical context, death is seen as a separation that breaks the marriage bond (Rom. 7:2-3). This is illustrated by the law of marriage, where a married woman is bound to her husband by law as long as he lives, but if he dies, she is freed from the law of her husband (Rom. 7:2-3).
